Championing Education Since Day One

Join Your Local PTA

The Maryland PTA is the state’s oldest and most trusted parent-teacher association, representing over 800 local PTA units and a vibrant community of families, educators, and advocates. For more than 100 years, we’ve worked to ensure every child in Maryland has access to a high-quality education and a supportive learning environment—no matter their background, zip code, or learning style.

Rooted in the national PTA’s founding mission, Maryland PTA operates on the belief that family engagement is key to student success. Our network unites thousands of volunteers, school leaders, and decision-makers in a shared vision: every child, one voice. We advocate at every level—local, state, and federal—to influence education policy, protect funding for public schools, and promote initiatives that nurture the whole child.

We’re more than a membership organization—we’re a movement. Through our leadership development programs, legislative action, and community-building events, we prepare families to lead, serve, and make a difference in their children’s schools and beyond.
